Sekhar Kammula’s Life is Beautiful on February 11

Director Sekhar Kammula, who is talented in making youthful romantic entertainers, had tried something new with his last film ‘Leader’. This film was the launch pad for Daggubati Rana, who is carrying the legacy of Victory Venkatesh. The film bombed at box-office despite critical acclaim. Now the director is back in his forte with a film titled ‘Life is Beautiful’.

The film that features 3 young pairs in lead roles has wrapped up the talkie part a while ago. Currently, the film is celebrating its post-production formalities at slow pace in Hyderabad. The film was made under Amigos Creations banner. Sekhar Kammula has confirmed that the film will hit the marquee on February 11 worldwide. Sekhar Kammula enjoys craze on par with top heroes of Tollywood overseas and the director is planning to hold premiers for this film over there on February 10.

Let’s hope he bounces back with success this time.

Uday Kiran’s Nuvvekkadunte Nenakkadunta postponed again

Contrary to the reports by several sections of media that Uday Kiran starrer ‘Nuvvekkadune Nenakkadunta’ opened to dull openings, the makers of the movie have said that the film did not release on December 16. This news comes as a surprise as it was exactly two days ago that the film’s release date was announced as December 16.

The reason behind this postponement is that the distributors of the film have asked its makers to re-shoot few scenes of the film and release the film in February as there are no big releases during that time. Hence, the makers have decided to postpone the film to February.

The film has Shweta Basu Prasad as female lead. The film is produced by Eshwar Prasad and D Kumar. Shubha Selvam is making his debut as director with this film.

Uday Kiran has been going through a rough phase in his career and he badly needs a hit this time to be in the league. 

Rajendra Prasad’s Ayyare overcomes censor woes

‘Ayyare’, which has Rajendra Prasad in the lead role, has finally got the censor clearance yesterday. The censor board had objected about the content and few scenes in the film earlier due to the petition filed by Swami Nithyananda. The spiritual guru had lodged a complaint in the High Court of Andhra Pradesh challenging the film’s release as he felt that the content of the movie is targeted towards him.

The court had dismissed his plea earlier this week and the censor board has cleared the censor formalities upon the intervention of AP Film Chamber. The film received U/A certificate and will hit the screens on December 30.

Sai Kumar and Sivaji play pivotal roles in the film. The film marks the debut of director Shekar Chandru. The film is jointly produced by Ranganna, Achchappa and Dr Sudhakar Babu. Rajendra Prasad is essaying the role of a swamiji in this film.

 

Pawan Kalyan’s Gabbar Singh in song shoot

After tasting hatrick disasters Pawan Kalyan is now looking totally recharged in his new film ‘Gabbar Singh’. Recently, the director has filmed a song on Pawan Kalyan and Shruti Hassan which is set on village backdrop at Kerala’s Pollachi. The entire unit of ‘Gabbar Singh’ is shocked to see Pawan dancing with lots of intensity and energy after long time. Especially director Harish Shankar has compared this performance to ‘Thammudu’ days. It is learnt that Pawan has once again danced to the beat of ‘Teen maar’ in this film.

Pawan Kalyan is essaying the role of a ruthless cop in this mass entertainer. The film is the official remake of Bollywood blockbuster ‘Dabangg’. There are huge expectations on this film as the fans of the actor are expecting an out and out mass movie with commercial elements from him since few years. Let’s hope he lives up to the hype this time and secures a hit and joins the race for top spot.

Mahesh’s Businessman audio live relay in NTV and Gemini TV

Television giant Gemini TV and popular news channel NTV has bagged the telecast rights of Super Star Mahesh Babu’s coming soon film ‘Businessman’ audio launch. It is learnt that they have paid whopping amount to grab the rights of this biggest event. The makers have planned to release the film’s audio in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam languages at Shilpakala Vedika on December 22 amidst Mahesh fans. A new teaser of 1 minute duration will be telecasted on the audio launch day.

The makers are making all efforts to promote the film in every possible way. Though, there are lots of expectations on this film the makers are planning to drive them in the correct path so that there won’t be any divide talk on the release day. Mahesh’s last film ‘Dookudu’ has set a new trend in Tollywood for its wonderful publicity campaign.

Recently, Mahesh completed dubbing for his lines for the first half of the movie at Shabdalaya Theaters, Hyderabad. The movie is slated for release on January 11 in all the three languages.

Nagarjuna’s Damarukam in final schedule

King Nagarjuna’s new film ‘Damarukam’ shooting is going on at brisk pace in a specially erected sets at Annapurna Studios. This will be the last and final schedule of the film which goes on till December 23. With this, the entire talkie part of the film will be wrapped up. The post-production works of the film will take more time than expected as the film is touted to be a socio-fantasy flick and hence the makers are planning to release the film sometime in summer.

Anushka is essaying the role of a Deva Kanya for the first time in this film. The chemistry between Anushka and Nagarjuna is wonderful and a treat to fans, says a source. Nagarjuna is playing the roles of an auto driver and aghora in this movie. Prakash Raj, Abhimanyu Singh and Ganesh Venkatraman are playing important roles in this film. Srinivasa Reddy is directing the film under RR Movie Makers banner. Devi Sri Prasad is scoring music for the film.

Aadhi’s Ekaveera audio launched

Aadhi, who shot to fame with films like ‘Mrugam’ and ‘Vaishali’, is now coming in and as ‘Ekaveera’. The audio of the film was launched yesterday evening at Daspalla Hotel, Hyderabad. Mega Star Chiranjeevi, Allu Aravind, hero Karthi, Allari Naresh, Manchu Manoj, Uday Kiran, Bellamkonda Suresh, VV Vinayak, Srinu Vaitla, R Narayana Murthy, Dhansika, Aadhi, Ravi Raja Pinisetty, Vijay Chander, etc graced the event.

The audio CD was launched by Chiranjeevi amidst huge cheers and he handed over the first copy to Karthi. Speaking at the occasion Chiru wished the team of ‘Ekaveera’ a good luck and remembered the friendship between his family and Ravi Raja Pinisetty’s family. Allu Aravind spoke high about the film and conveyed his best wishes to the unit of the film.

R Narayana Murthy urged the producers of Tollywood not to dub English and Hindi movies in Telugu as it’s becoming very difficult for small producers like him to get reputed theaters to screen their movies. 

Journey is successful at box-office

Sharwanand, Anjali, Jai, Ananya starrer ‘Journey’, which is the dubbed version of super hit Tamil film ‘Engeyum Eppothum’, has opened to positve reviews here. The movie has witnessed decent openings with heavy returns at the theaters across Andhra Pradesh. Director Saravanan has depicted the human emotions well with realistic approach. The roles played by the lead cast are well received by the audience.

Producer Suresh Kondeti stated that he is elated with the kind of response the film is getting and he is going to add 35 more theaters across the state as there is huge demand from the exhibitors for screeing this film. He also thanked the audience for making this film a grand success. The movie has become a bigger hit than ‘Premiste’, which also produced by Suresh Kondeti. The cinematography by Velraj is terrific and especially the scenes where the buses collide with each other are shown well.

Naga Chaitanya Gauravam in Tamil

Naga Chaitanya, who is struggling to make a mark in Tollywood, is eyeing to carve a niche for himself in Kollywood. The actor is currently busy with ‘Auto Nagar Surya’ directed by Dev Katta. The film is shaping up well and Nagarjuna too expressed his confidence over the film’s script.

Recently, Chaitanya has agreed to work with Radha Mohan of ‘Gaganam’ fame in a new project titled ‘Gauravam’. The film is being produced by Nagarjuna Akkineni under Annapurna Studios banner. The makers are planning to release the film in Telugu and Tamil languages simultaneously.

This is going to be the debut film of Chaitanya in Kollywood. With the increase in production costs the makers are planning to release the film in other languages to garner attention and draw huge openings on the first week of the film’s release. The movie will go onto the sets once Chaitu completes working for ‘Auto Nagar Surya’. The film is expected to hit the marquee for summer, 2012.

Sneha in Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu?

Producer Dil Raju, who dished out several family entertainers successfully, is now struggling to finalise the leading lady opposite Venkatesh in his next project ‘Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu’. Earlier, he approached Bhumika, Trisha and Nayantara for this role but it seems none of them is interested to work in this project as they are not willing to act as Mahesh’s sister-in-law. Recently, heroine Anushka had agreed to play this role but unfortunately due to her earlier commitments she is unable to adjust her call sheets for this film.

Hence, Dil Raju has approached Sneha for this role and is yet to receive the confirmation from this pretty lady. If everything goes as planned the movie will start rolling from next week onwards. The film is touted to be a family entertainer, which revolves around Mahesh and his sister-in-law. Samantha has been roped in as leading lady opposite Mahesh long ago. Srikanth Addala is the director, while Mickey J Meyer is providing soundtrack for this film.
