Young Tiger NTR is proving why he is called 'box office gold' by many. His upcoming summer release ‘Dammu’ is setting pre release records everywhere and this in spite of the actors past few films having poor performance at the box office.

Recently the films satellite rights were grabbed by Zee Telugu channel for whopping 6.6 Cr. This is the highest price paid for the satellite rights of a Jr NTR film, although not a record overall. After accumulating all such pre release selling prices, the film is said to have crossed the magical Rs 40 Cr.

‘Dammu’ is directed by Boyapati Srinu and expectations on the film have reached sky high even before the actual beginning of the promotion of the film. We wonder what would happen when the promotional exercises begins later this month, starting from the audio release of the film on March 23. 

King Nagarjuna’s new movie ‘Damarukam’ is almost complete except for some patch work. Currently, the unit is shooting the balance part on Nagarjuna and others in Hyderabad and with this scheudle the entire shooting will be completed. The post production formalities of the film are in full swing simultaneously.

‘Damarukam’ is a socio-fantasy film, which is being made with huge budget by Venkat under RR Movie Makers banner. Srinivasa Reddy is the director.

Anushka is romancing Nagarjuna in this film. The makers are planning to release ‘Damarukam’ on April 6 for Good Friday in both Telugu and Tamil languages. Devi Sri Prasad is scoring the music and Chota K Naidu handles the lens.

Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja’s upcoming film ‘Daruvu’ in the direction of Siva is almost in the final stages. The shooting expected to wrap up by this month end.

Apparently, ‘Daruvu’ will hit the screens on May 4, as the film reportedly has lot of special effects and the makers are trying their best to get as much quality output as possible without rushing things up. So, extra precaution is being taken for its post production and hence the film is expected to have a May release.

‘Daruvu’ stars Ravi Teja and Tapsee in the lead for the second time after ‘Veera’. The movie also has veteran actor Kaikala Satyanarayana playing the role of Yama Dharma Raja as the special attraction. Burugupalli Sivaramakrishna produces the film and Vijay Antony provides the music.

With the shooting of his current film ‘Endukante Premanta’ reaching final stages, Energetic Star Ram has officially confirmed the news of his new film under the direction of ‘Bommarillu’ Bhaskar. This film would be made under Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra banner by successful producer BVSN Prasad. 

For director Bhaskar this is a huge sigh of relief after being literally left out in cold for more than a year post his disastrous ‘Orange’. A top heroine is expected to act as heroine opposite Ram. The film will go onto sets in May, with regular shooting is expected to begin from June. 

Ram’s upcoming film ‘Endukante Premanta’ is expected to release in the last week of April or in the first week of May.

After a brief halt, Rocking Star Manchu Manoj is back to the sets of his new film ‘Uu Kodathara Ulikki Padathara’. Currently, the unit is shooting a huge action scene as part of the climax on Manoj and Nandamuri Balakrishna, who plays a special role in the film. Interestingly, this action sequence is being directed by Rocking Star himself. 

The film is said to be socio fantasy film with Nandamuri Balakrishna playing the role of a king in the film. Deeksha Seth is the heroine in the film. Music for the film has been composed by Bobo Sashi of ‘Takita Takita’ fame. ‘Uu Kodathara Ulikki Padathara’ is being directed by Sekhar Raja and produced by Manchu Lakshmi Prasanna. The film is slated to have a late summer release.

Power Star Pawan Kalyan’s much awaited summer release ‘Gabbar Singh’ has got a release date. The director of the film Harish Shankar announced officially that the film would hit the screens on May 9 later this summer.

The film is currently in final stages of shooting with some talkie portions being shot in and around Hyderabad. The final schedule of ‘Gabbar Singh’ was planned in Gujarat to shoot the climax but owning to some health concerns of the star the shoot has been relocated to Hyderabad. This schedule would begin from March 9 and both introduction of the hero and climax episodes of the film would be shot over there.

Shruti Hassan is paired opposite Pawan Kalyan in the film. Devi Sri Prasad has given the music, while Bandla Ganesh produces it. 

All the news of ‘Gouravam’ being postponed or shelved has turned out to be false. The film is well on its way to go to sets and not only that, the film has got new producer too. ‘Gouravam’ will now be a joint production venture between Annapurna Studios and UTV Motion Pictures. ‘Gouravam’ will go onto sets from June.

‘Gouravam’, a bilingual film directed by Radhamohan staring Yuva Samrat Naga Chaitanya in the lead. The film was to go to sets earlier in the year but it didn’t happen, and hence the rumor started that the film was shelved post the poor box office performances of Naga Chaitanya’s last films.

‘Gouravam’ will also mark the comeback of UTV Motion Pictures into Telugu market. They earlier made the film ‘Athidi’ with Superstar Mahesh Babu but the film bombed at box office. 

Super Raja Sunil, who bounced back big time with his latest release ‘Poolarangadu’, has started listening to scripts from various directors for future films. 

Recently, it is believed that director Raghava Lawrence has narrated a story to Sunil which he has liked very much. Sunil has asked the director to come up with a full script and if he likes the final version, the film would go onto sets.

Sunil’s next film is ‘Sita Weds Ramudu’, which is the Telugu remake of Hindi film ‘Tanu Weds Manu’. NV Prasad and Paras Jain are producing ‘Sita Weds Ramudu’ under Mega Supergood Films banner and Isha Chawla has been roped in as the heroine. 

Nandamuri Balakrishna and Young Tiger NTR are the two powerhouses in the Nandamuri family, who always generate high energy whenever they are together. In the past they appeared together for the audio success meet of Nandamuri Balakrishna’s ‘Simha’ and Kalyan Ram’s ‘Katti’. Now after a long gap they will be seen together again on a dais.

The venue and function for which this rare combination is going to appear together is Young Tiger NTR’s ‘Dammu’ audio launch. The event will happen on March 23 on the occasion of Ugadi in Shilpa Kala Vedika, Hyderabad. What more could have Nandamuri fans expected for this festive season.

‘Dammu’ directed by Boyapati Srinu is carrying tremendous hype already and is slated to release on April 19. Trisha and Karthika are heroines in the film. MM Keeravani has provided the music. Alexander Vallabha has produced the film.

After wrapping up the first schedule of the film in Karnataka, the unit of ‘Shirdi Sai’ is currently in Kulu Manali filming key sequences of the film on Akkineni Nagarjuna, who plays the title role. The movie is being directed by K Raghavendra Rao.

Nagarjuna, who plays the role of Shiridi Sai Baba for the first time in his career, is taking extra care to make the character a memorable one. Reportedly, the film not only depicts the history of Sai Baba, it will also showcases the miracles of him.

‘Shirdi Sai’ is produced by A Mahesh Reddy. MM Keeravani provides the music, while Paruchuri Brothers are penning the dialogues. The movie is expected to release in second half of 2012.
