Filmmaker Vikas Bahl is keen to act actress Alia Bhatt as the female lead in his upcoming movie ‘Shaandar’.

It’s rumored that the director, who has already finalized Shahid Kapoor for the male lead, recently approached Alia Bhatt with the script.

“We have finalized Shahid. I would like to have Alia in the film, but we are still working on the script. So it's too early to talk about it (the heroine)," said Vikas Bahl to PTI.

When asked, actress Alia Bhatt chose neither to confirm nor deny the reports.

“I prefer not to talk about anything right now. Whenever it has to come out it will," Alia said.

But Alia Bhatt did express a keen interest to work with Shahid Kapoor sometime in future.

“Shahid is a fantastic actor and a dancer. He is one of the best dancers we have. I would love to work with him in future,” she said.

The movie ‘Shaandar’ is slated to go on floors in the month of August.

Alia Bhatt, daughter of famous filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, got her major break in Karan Johar’s movie ‘Student of the Year’. Even though the actress impressed many with her acting in the movie, it’s her second movie ‘Highway’ that won her accolades.

“I am a director's child and for me he is my father. I was kept away from the industry during my growing up days. The first time I was on a set was when I shot for ‘Student of the Year’. Eventually what you become is because of your talent. You have to have talent. Audience want to see good work,” Alia Bhatt concluded.
