Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan prefers to do his own stunts. But the actor doesn’t feel that my doing his own stunts he is depriving stunt artists from their jobs.

“They are the ones who make it happen... they are the ones who teach us... they have the most important jobs when it comes to action,” said Shah Rukh Khan to IANS while promoting his upcoming movie ‘Chennai Express’.

“They tell us what to do. Some of the times they tell me, 'Shah Rukh bhai, you don't do this one.' Sometimes it's a choice... can I do it as gracefully as the other person? So, they assist me... if it's safe, then they let me do it. Because heroes do their own stunts, that don’t mean we are taking the job away from stunt doubles and actions,” he added.

Shah Rukh Khan in fact injured his shoulder while performing a stunt for the movie. But the actor said that despite the risks involved, the stunts keep him going.

“I like doing my stunts... I feel I haven't worked if I haven't been doing my stunts. I am very good in jumps and somersaults. I can do a lot of stunts," said Shah Rukh Khan.

He added that when he goes back home, he doesn't want to lie about the daredevil scenes in his movies.

"When my son and daughter ask me, you did that yourself, I don't want to lie. I want to say, yes, I did it myself. I feel proud. It keeps you going," Shah Rukh Khan concluded.

‘Chennai Express’ is directed by Rohit Shetty. It is co- produced by Shah Rukh Khan's wife Gauri Khan under her production banner Red Chillies Entertainment and Siddharth Roy Kapur and Ronnie Screwvala under UTV Motion Pictures.
