Director Abhishek Kapoor revealed that he was offered to direct the movie adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s novel ‘Two States’. But the director refused the offer as he found the content of Chetan Bhagat’s other novel ‘3 Mistakes of My Life’ more interesting and decided to adapt it as ‘Kai Po Che!’.
“It ('Two States') was offered to me but I felt I was already working on Chetan's one novel ('The 3 Mistakes of my Life') so I should concentrate on that only,” said Abhishek Kapoor to PTI.
“‘Kai Po Che’ is a big project. I feel 'Two States' is about two characters… so it will be a hit. But this film was more challenging as a director,” he added.
‘Kai Po Che!’ stars debutant actors Sushant Singh, Raj Kumar Yadav and Amit Sadh. The movie is about friendship, male bonding, their dreams, and aspirations and how they struggle to realize their goals while facing several roadblocks including their own mistakes.
The movie will release on February 22.
