Filmmaker Abhishek Kapoor, who rose to fame with the movie ‘Rock On!’, said that though his upcoming movie ‘Kai Po Che’ also focuses on male bonding, the sensibility of the movie is very different from ‘Rock On!’.
“Characters come from the different social backdrops and this (Kai Po Che) is more middle-class, hardcore, deep-rooted India and that ('Rock On!') was very urban - so their sensibilities are very different,” said Abhishek Kapoor to IANS.
The director said that making ‘Kai Po Che’ felt like directing ‘Rock On!’ "three times over".
“The way they (the characters) respond and react to each other is very different, their value systems are very different, and more than anything else, it is a much bigger and wider story. ‘Kai Po Che’ was like making three ‘Rock Ons’,” said Kapoor.
‘Kai Po Che’ is a big screen adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s novel ‘3 Mistakes of My Life’.
The movie marks the big screen debut of TV actor Sushant Singh Rajput, and also stars Amit Sadh, Rajkumar Yadav and Amrita Puri.
‘Kai Po Che’ will release on Jan 11, 2013.
