Bollywood Actress Kareena Kapoor, who has won 6 Filmfare awards till date, said that she has a stiff competition from her cousin Ranbir Kapoor, who looks like he will overtake her record soon.
“Since I was a child, I always thought I will win a Filmfare and give an acceptance speech, where I will thank my mother, father and family. My Filmfare trophies will follow me till my grave. Hopefully, not only six but many more,” said Kareena Kapoor to IANS.
The actress went on to add that Ranbir Kapoor, who has already won 4 Filmfare awards, might not only break her record but also of their Grandfather Raj Kapoor, who won 11 Filmfare awards in his career.
“But I have a very tough competition in my own family now. You never know, soon Ranbir might cross my record and that of my grandfather. But that would surely be a very joyous moment for our family,” added Kareena speaking in Mumbai at the 58th Idea Filmfare Awards 2012 press conference on Tuesday.
The Filmfare award ceremony is scheduled for January 20 next year at the Yash Raj Films (YRF) studios in Mumbai.
The actress said that coming from one of the most prominent families in Bollywood doesn’t add any extra pressure on her.
“The pressures are obviously there because there are so many names associated with it. But we are all taking it forward in our own way. Earlier it was me and Karisma, but I am so glad that finally there is a man in the family (Ranbir),” she concluded.
The actress was seen in four movies this year. Her movies ‘Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu’ and ‘Talaash’ went on to do good business at the box-office, while her ‘Agent Vinod’ and ‘Heroine’ failed to create an impact.
