A Kashmiri sportsman has threatened to take legal action against the makers of movie ‘Barfi’ for portraying him in bad light.

Directed by Anurag Basu the movie ‘Barfi’ starred Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Ileana D’Cruz. The movie received tremendous response from many critics and audience alike.

Apparently in the movie ‘Barfi’ Majid Yousuf Dar, son of Kashmir's football star Mohammad Yousuf and a sports manager, was shown as a bank robber.

"My client (Majid Youusf Dar) has been portrayed as a bank robber in the movie without his consent," said Dar's lawyer Abid Banday to a daily.

A lawyer added that they were planning on sending legal notice to the makers soon.

“He is not an ordinary person... he is a sports icon of the valley,” the lawyer added.

This isn’t the first time that the movie has come under scrutiny. There has been a section of audience who has criticized the movie for allegedly copying scenes in the movie from various Hollywood movies.

The movie was recently chosen as India’s official entry to Oscars.
