In director Anurag Basu’s upcoming movie ‘Barfi’, actress Priyanka Chopra plays a role of an autistic girl.
To look the part, Priyanka Chopra had to undergo major changes in looks. The actress’s hair was cut short and first reaction of Priyanka Chopra after seeing the hair was ‘Aila, I look like Sachin!’
“To prep up for the role, Priyanka was made to meet several autistic kids. We took a few things from here and there to give her a suitable look. After seeing for the first time how she looked like Jhilmil, her character, PC said, 'Aila, I look like Sachin!” said Anurag Basu to a daily.
Other than Priyanka Chopra the movie features Ranbir Kapoor and Ileana.
Ranbir Kapoor plays a character of deaf and dumb boy Murphy, who is called ‘Barfi’ by all his friends. Even though Barfi is deaf and dumb he is quite a charmer and a prankster. He seems to always have a prank up his sleeve.
Priyanka Chopra on the other hand plays an autistic girl Jhilmil, whom Ranbir Kapoor described as a ‘beautiful puppy dog’ during the release of the trailer.
Ileana, who is making her Bollywood debut with this movie, plays Ranbir Kapoor’s instructor, Shruti, who loves Murphy.
The movie is basically about Murphy’s bitter-sweet relationship with Shruti (Ileana) and Jhilmil (Priyanka) and the chain of events that turns his life upside down.
‘Barfi’ is all set to release on September 14th.
