Ever since Aamir Khan’s show ‘Satyamev Jayate’ aired on television this Sunday, the want of the Indians to fight again ill practices in our society has only increased.
The first episode on the show concentrated on female infanticide happening in our country. Aamir Khan had promised the audience that he would apply a petition to Rajasthan government to move the court cases shown in the show to a fast track court.
True to his word, Aamir Khan met up with the Chief Minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot today to discuss his plea for the speedy trial of female feticide cases.
“My specific demand to the Honorable chief minister of Rajasthan is to please constitute a fast track court related with the sting operation done by journalists against the doctors and all those cases to be clubbed for the justice to be expedited,” said Aamir Khan addressing the media while sitting next to the CM.
Chief Minister Gehlot applauded Aamir Khan’s initiative to bring to light the major concern of Indian society. He also said that he would speak to the Chief Justice of the state of Rajasthan and make sure the procedure of forming a fast track court is laid down at the earliest.
Even though Aamir Khan with his show has brought to light this major concern of Indian society and has helped to spread awareness and take action against this issue he still said that he was primarily an entertainer.
“I was expecting that I would be able to touch people's heart with the show and I am glad to see the effect of the show. I am happy about it. I am not an activist, I am an entertainer. I only try to reach people's heart. I am not here to talk about issues seven days a week. I am an entertainer, and that is what I am passionate about. I want to touch people's emotions and know their feelings, whether it is through a films or through this show,” he said.
“As an entertainer, it is not necessary that I only make people laugh, it means that I should be able to evoke all emotions in them,” he concluded.
