Bollywood’s ‘Ghanta’ Awards are similar to that of ‘Razzie’ Awards of Hollywood. They present awards to worst of Bollywood.
While all of Bollywood stays away from such awards, Sonam Kapoor was a sport about it and showed up for the award function.
Infact, the actress accepted her ‘WTF was that’ award for her film ‘Mausam’, for not exchanging phone numbers with Shahid Kapoor’s character for 10 years, graciously.
“I went because it’s good to have a sense of humor and not take myself too seriously,” said the actress.
With this move, Sonam Kapoor has impressed many. Infact, popular critic Rajeev Masand said that other Bollywood celebrities should take a leaf out of Sonam’s book and attend such events.
“I think it’s extremely sporting of her and she took it in the right spirit. Bollywood stars, generally speaking, can’t laugh at themselves. They tend to take themselves too seriously. It was refreshing of Sonam to turn up and show that she can take a joke,” he said.
The founder of the Ghantas, Karan Anshuman, was happy to see Sonam Kapoor attend the event.
“We had invited her and she accepted. It was a big surprise and a big deal that she came, when no one else did,” he said.
Nargis Fakhri was awarded the worst actress award, while Salman Khan won the worst actor award. Movie ‘Ra.One’ was adjudged as the worst film of the year.
