For the past few days the reports have been rife that Madhur Bhandarkar’s upcoming movie ‘Heroine’, starring Kareena Kapoor, is based on the life of Manisha Koirala.
But the director Madhur Bhandarkar has dismissed the reports.
“Heroine's not inspired by Manisha Koirala's life. It's a figment of imagination. People should check facts before creating such stories,” tweeted Madhur Bhandarkar.
The director in fact said that the movie wasn’t based on anybody’s life in particular.
“No, my film is not based on anyone in particular,” he said to a daily.
“I've been asked whether it is based on the life of Marilyn Monroe and many others.’Heroine' takes nothing out of any particular actor's life,” he added.
‘Heroine’ is the story of a top actors going through a downfall. It was rumored that the up’s and down’s shown in the movie is very similar to Manisha Koirala’s career.
The actress, who was top once delivering hits after hits with movies like ‘Bombay’, ‘1942 Love Story’, ‘Dil Se’, went through terrible low and also became an alcoholic. She was often spotted in a drunken stupor in public. Her lack of self esteem could be seen through her tumultuous relationships that got a lot of media attention.
