Versatile actress Lakshmi Manchu, who is the daughter of collection king Dr Mohan Babu, is going to make her debut in Kollywood in creative director Mani Ratnam’s new film. The actress has agreed to play an important role in this film. However, the exact details on her role are not known and it is heard that she is playing the central character of the film.

The news was posted by Lakshmi on a micro blogging site. She wrote, “Ok..phew.. I just signed a movie w Manirathnam. My first Tamil film. He is the first man who influenced me 2 b in films.Dreams do come true.”

The pretty lass is also playing the role of Sanjay Dutt’s wife in Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Department’.

Lakshmi is turning heroine with her dream project ‘Gundello Godari’ . The film will be produced by herself under Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures banner. The film is touted to be a heroine centric film. Aadi Pinisetty has been finalized as the hero of the film a couple of days ago. The film will be a bi-lingual in Telugu and Tamil languages.
