The legendary Cricket and father of Saif Ali Khan, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi who was 71, passed away on Thursday due to breathing problems.
On 29th August, he was rushed to a hospital inNew Delhiwhere he was diagnosed with interstitial lung disease, a condition in which the passage of oxygen to the two lungs is less than normal.
He was admitted in ICU where he was on very high level of oxygen support, requiring intermitted BIPAP (Bi-level Positive Airway Pressure) support.
His conditional was said to be stable but hadn’t improved in past month.
Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi who was formerly known as Nawab Pataudi was the youngest Captain to lead Indian Cricket Team.
Team India also tasted their first victory overseas under his captaincy whenNew Zealandsurrendered to his side in the 1967 series.
For his achievements as Cricket Captain he was given the prestigious Padma Shri Award.
He married the Bollywood actress Sharmila Tagore and has two kids, son Saif Ali Khan and daughter Soha Ali Khan.
